International Women’s Day X Karma Drinks

International Women’s Day X Karma Drinks: We are Karma Drinks; the small fizzy drinks business on a big mission.

International Women’s Day

With every drink we sell, 1% of revenue is donated to The Karma Foundation, which has spent the last 10 years working alongside the women in the communities who grow our Cola nuts, in the rainforest of Sierra Leone. This year we’ll be donating 100% of Karma Drinks UK profits on International Women’s Day to The Karma Foundation. We need to sell as many drinks as we can, because the more drinks we sell, the more good we do. That’s why we need your help. The theme of this year’s IWD “inspiring inclusion” is what Karma is all about. We want to work with you to educate your customers, drive loyalty and support these fierce women in their paths of learning, working and leading. Help us bring power to the people that empower their people.

Doing Good

The close relationship between Karma and the farmers who grow our Cola nuts is made possible through our long-standing friendship with Chief Kadi. She’s the female village leader who is a champion of the work of the Karma Foundation, which over the years has.. Provided bursaries for 150 girls to go to school per year, educating 910 children over the last 10 years Funded five girls to pursue higher education in Universities in Freetown, the capital city of Sierra Leone Supported 60 female entrepreneurs to set up their own businesses, via micro loans and training in literacy and governance Hired two female teachers in four schools built and maintained by Karma Cola Foundation Provided life-changing health funds for 14 women in 2023.

Our impact

We’re one of the only SME UK businesses that have our own foundation which connects the people who drink our drinks to the people who grow the ingredients that we often take for granted. Take the woman in Manchester drinking Gingerella to curb her morning sickness and nausea; she has funded Hawa Ali to go to university in Freetown, and be the first girl from these communities to do so. Or the lady in London on her lunch break drinking a Karma Cola from Leon; she has played a part in helping Hawa Koroma set up her own business, become financially independent and even pay for her own children to go to school. A school whose classrooms were built by sales of Lemony Lemonade in Leicester…

The Karmic cycle continues. Research shows that empowering and educating women is one of the best ways to help a community develop, as well as being one of the world’s most effective tools to fight climate change. Call it Karma.

We only make soft drinks that are good for the planet and good for people. Because fizzy drinks might be frivolous, but they can also be a force for change.
