Proppadoms – Poppadoms done Proppa
The founders, Sunny and Harmeet enjoyed a globe-trotting honeymoon in 2014 where they visited numerous different countries and cultures. A recurring phrase when dining around the world and asking about recipes was ‘It’s a Family Secret’.
Upon their return to the UK they both missed the authentic flavours from their travels and ‘Family Secret’ was born in 2016. Initially launching with a range of world cuisine cooking sauces, the brand had success in a number of retailers and received celebrity endorsement.
As the brand gained traction NPD was introduced into the range in the form of a ‘snack box’. The Snack Box for travel consisted of mini poppadoms and 2 dips, it launched incredibly successfully in 2019. By March 2020 the brand had secured numerous airline contracts for their snackboxes and production had started… but then COVID-19 hit… and everything STOPPED overnight.
Sunny and Harmeet, a UK based husband and wife, had a warehouse full of mini proppadoms, so not wanting to be detered by covid, they spent lockdown with a UK local crisp manufacturer seasoning the proppadoms to develop a healthy snacking alternative. This is where Proppadoms was born.
